Michelle Resendez shared on Facebook how her teenage son’s generosity during his job earned him a sizable tip from a customer.
The report claims that one evening while Matthew Resendez was working his shift at Burger King, a homeless man entered. He asked Matthew what he could afford on the menu and gave him fifty cents.
With empathy for his plight, Matthew asked the man what he would order if money was not an issue. He said that anything would do.
Using his own debit card, Matthew placed an order for a substantial dinner. Then he asked the man to settle into a seat while giving him the receipt.
Resendez wrote in his piece, “The story could end there, and it would be a happy ending.”
But a woman who was watching the discussion in the restaurant wrote to the corporation to compliment the employee’s conduct. Then she gave Matthew a $100 gratuity.
“So proud to be his mom and I can pat myself on the back knowing that I’ve played a part in raising this big hearted young man,” Resendez wrote in a letter.
More than 147,000 people liked and shared the article, with thousands thanking Matthew for his generosity.
“So nice and so kind of him you raised a beautiful person we need more young men like him in our world you are blessed,” a witness said.
Amazing story, as stated by a second writer. Matt, I appreciate you for doing morally.”
