A 17-year-old beauty queen from South Carolina was detained after it was claimed that she falsified medical records to justify her absence from school.
Police reportedly took Madison Cox into custody. Madison Cox was crowned Miss Spartanburg International and later Miss South Carolina Teen International, according to WSPA.
The notes were written by the high school student using a Parris Family Chiropractic notepad. It is unknown from reports what was written in the notes or how many Cox wrote.
According to authorities, she claimed to be sick and unable to attend Byrnes High School on dates that the medical practice had never seen her.
The clinic was even closed on a few of those days.
Cox seemed to be indifferent to the whole thing.
She reportedly tweeted, “Did they really just put me on the news BC I went to jail for a DOCTORS NOTE???” before removing it, as reported by the New York Daily News.
She carried on with her observations.
She continued on Twitter, saying, “I have to learn to stop being so childish and keep my mouth shut.”
“It’s unfortunate that I’m the sole source of amusement in your lives,” Cox wrote.
