A picture of a guy entertaining his wife while she was isolated for radiation therapy for cancer has gone viral.

According to BuzzFeed News, Marci Newman has been receiving radiation treatments after receiving a thyroid cancer diagnosis. She had to stay in seclusion for the duration of the treatments.

Jon Newman, her spouse, didn’t let it stop him from supporting her, though.

When Mackenna, their 17-year-old daughter, arrived home from school one day, she saw something touching. She noticed her mother’s room and her father seated on a chair outside it. There was a small crack in the door.

Mackenna posted a photo of her father entertaining her mother on social media.

“My mom has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I’m crying,” Mackenna posted to Twitter.

With over 172,000 likes and over 71,000 retweets, the picture got viral very fast. Several people on social media expressed their support for Mackenna and her family.

“Very lovely! True, lovely, meaningful love, a Twitter user remarked. “All the best to your mom.”

It took me a little while to find this motivational tweet. Thinking of you and your family. Another person wrote, “Your parents are amazing.” “Your father. Amazing!”

“Amazing…may she heal fast. My thoughts are with you and your family,” said another commenter. “Stay strong you have an amazing Dad.”

“Kenna, I’m a nurse and a #ThyCa survivor. Another person commented, “This is the cutest!” “Many blessings [and] success to your mother! Tell me if I may be of any assistance, please.”

“My heart is melting tell your mom I’m praying for her [and] your Fam,” continued another. “Your folks are outstanding. I’m hoping for a successful conclusion for each of you.”

Mackenna expressed her gratitude for all of the love and support she received on social media from her family.

“I didn’t expect any of the love I’ve received, but I’m so grateful,” Mackenna said to BuzzFeed News. “I find it endearing that they are so deeply in love.”

The mother of the 17-year-old said that her husband’s specific action was not unusual.

“Jon goes to every doctor’s appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation,” Marci stated. “And, as you can see, if he can’t be by my side he is as close as he can get!”
