William Shatner Admits He Is Not Very Long For This World

In a recent interview, the 91-year-old Star Trek legend William Shatner discussed his impending death in advance of the premiere of his documentary, “You Can Call Me Bill.” Even though Shatner knew he wouldn’t have much time left, he nonetheless made the documentary in hopes of staying in touch with his grandchildren after his passing. He expressed his desire to ensure that his loved ones had something to remember him by, as he knows that his time is limited. Shatner has three previous marriages under his belt and is a proud grandfather to five grandchildren.

Alexandre O. Philippe’s documentary will have its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Texas. Leslie, Lisabeth, and Melanie Shatner, Shatner’s daughters, are also included in the documentary. Shatner discussed his grandchildren and how being a grandfather has given him the most happiness in life in an interview with The Guardian published in 2014. He claimed that he spends time getting to know them, giving them hugs and kisses, and imparting some of the wisdom he has accumulated over the course of his remarkable career.

After reconciling with Elizabeth Martin, his ex-wife, three years after their $2 million divorce, Shatner has recently made news. The couple opened up about their renewed interest when attending the Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills in January. Shatner said that Elizabeth embodies the spirit of life and compared their bond to “cinnamon.” Shatner and Elizabeth reached a divorce settlement in March 2020. Elizabeth obtained their holdings in Versailles, Kentucky, and Malibu Cove, California, along with a portion of her family’s farm in Indiana, while Shatner kept his ranch in Three Rivers, California, and his home in Studio City, California.

Shatner has been married four times in his life. From 1956 to 1969, he was married to Gloria Rand, with whom he had three children. In 1973, he later wed Marcy Lafferty, and the two of them remained together until 1996. Nerine Kidd Shatner was his third wife, but she passed away in 1999. Two years later, in 2001, he wed Elizabeth, and the two remained together until their separation in 2019.

Shatner still maintains an active personal and professional life despite his advanced age and health. He stays up to date with his initiatives and enjoys a close relationship with his family. “You Can Call Me Bill,” his documentary, is only one example of the legacy he hopes to leave for his loved ones. Many people find inspiration in Shatner, and his open conversations on death serve as a reminder to treasure the time we spend with our loved ones.
