Michael Madsen has talked publicly for the first time about the tragic death of his son, Hudson. It is believed that the 26-year-old committed suicide because he was found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The Los Angeles Times received a statement from the 64-year-old Reservoir Dogs star expressing shock and loss. “I am shocked because my son told me he was happy when we spoke a few days ago. He texted me last night, saying, ‘I love you, dad,'” Madsen added.
“I didn’t see any signs of depression,” he said, expressing his surprise. It is so terrible and tragic. All I’m trying to do is sort things out and comprehend what went on.
Shocked by the death, Hudson’s family sent a statement to Metro. “We are utterly devastated and overcome with sorrow and suffering due to Hudson’s passing,” they declared. “Everyone who knew and loved him will always cherish his memory and light.” We kindly request your privacy and consideration at this trying time.
On the island of Oahu, Hudson is believed to have committed himself, but a spokesman for the Honolulu Medical Examiner verified to PEOPLE that he died from a gunshot wound to the head. The precise moment of the catastrophe remained a secret.
Hudson and his spouse, Carlie, resided in Hawaii. In 2019, the pair relocated to Oahu.
Of the three children Michael and his wife DeAnna Madsen had, Hudson was the eldest. Luke and Calvin are their two sons as well. Michael’s first marriage to Jeannine Bisignano produced two older boys, Christian and Max.
