While traveling to their daughter’s memorial ceremony in Louisiana, a couple noticed a police car approaching from behind and turning on its lights. They were taken aback by what the officer did when they pulled over.
Maxine Morgan was stopped by a Bossier Parish police officer when she was traveling to her daughter’s burial service in Shreveport.
Due of the situation, Morgan’s concentration was not entirely on her driving.
“So I really wasn’t paying attention to my speed going down the road,” she stated to KSLA.
Deputy Jackie Loveless of Bossier Parish noticed the couple speeding past him while he was parked outside a grocery shop.
Morgan remarked, “I was focused on my driving.” “But my mind wasn’t there.”
Loveless said that he stopped the pair and then exited his patrol cruiser by following the standard procedure for a traffic stop. After exchanging pleasantries for a while, he informed Maxine that she had been speeding.
The cop, according to Morgan, was “very nice.”
The police was then informed by Maxine that she was going to her daughter’s burial service.
“It’s extremely difficult,” Morgan remarked. “It’s the hardest thing in the world to have to give up one of your kids.”
Loveless’s reply astounded Morgan. Reaching into her car, he grabbed her hand and asked to shake hands with her husband.
“I asked her, ‘Ma’am, do you mind if I pray with you?'” Loveless thought back.
Morgan accepted the offer right away with her spouse.
“When the spirit of the Lord comes up to me to pray, I’m obedient to him and pray with that person,” Loveless stated.
Morgan remarked, “It just touched me so much.” “He took the time to pray with us.”
Loveless found the occasion to be poignant as well.
“In the middle of prayer, she grabbed my hand and held my hand real tight,” stated the cop. “And tears started coming from her, tears of greatness and tears of appreciation.”
