When a man offers a panhandler honest work and is rejected, he makes his own sign.

Ryan Bray is a good-hearted person who constantly makes an effort to assist those in need. He came upon a panhandler pleading for coins on the street one Sunday when he was walking home from work. In his neighborhood, this sight was not unusual. Bray went up to the man with an offer because he felt driven to change his life more significantly.

Bray suggested offering the man the opportunity to work for his family business for $15 an hour rather than just giving him extra change. To his astonishment, though, the beggar sneered at the notion and flatly rejected the suggestion. He didn’t understand why he should work when begging would get him more money.

The man’s response turned heated when Bray contemplated raising the salary. It seems that Bray’s idea attacked his idea of a life in which wealth came easily and shook his complacency. Bray chose to take matters into his own hands after being offended by the beggar’s reaction.

Bray hurried back home and produced his own sign. Then he returned to the same spot of the street and publicly criticized the panhandler for his lack of drive and ambition. Despite his tendency toward kindness, Bray felt obliged to explain to the beggar the repercussions of his actions.

Speaking to reporters in Florida, the homeless guy, who asked not to be named, said Bray had misled him about giving him a job opportunity. All he sought was assistance to get out of his existence on the streets. He sees every cent he makes from begging as a chance to gradually better his situation.

Bray, however, is steadfast in his account of what happened. He maintains his sign, which asks drivers not to give money to beggars, because he believes that by preventing the community from providing them with financial support, these people will be forced to leave the area.

Bray saw the beggar’s insult as a chance to influence people’s viewpoints and persuade them to cease adding to the issue. The incident, where the beggar reached into his vehicle asking for money, only reaffirmed Bray’s resolve.
